Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install commercial and sports timber floors?
Yes. Alongside homes we install solid timber floors for schools and commercial spaces — including the gymnasium sports floor at Dulwich Hill School, which you can see in our projects gallery.
Can solid timber flooring be laid over a concrete slab?
Yes. Over concrete we build up a suitable subfloor first, typically battens or plywood, so the boards sit correctly and stay stable. We assess the slab and moisture at the free measure before recommending a method.
Can a solid timber floor be re-sanded later?
Yes. Solid hardwood can be re-sanded and re-coated when it eventually wears, which is why the same floor can serve a home for decades. Sanding and coating is a separate trade and is not part of our supply and installation service.
