Engineered Timber Flooring
Overview
Engineered timber flooring consists of multiple layers, including a hardwood veneer on top, providing the look of solid timber with added stability. It suits a wide range of interiors, and because the top layer is real hardwood it can usually be re-sanded and re-coated once over its lifetime, depending on how thick that veneer is.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between engineered timber and solid timber?
Engineered timber has a real hardwood wear layer bonded to a stable plywood or HDF core. You get the same timber surface, but with much better dimensional stability — which is why it copes well with concrete slabs, apartments and Sydney’s humidity swings.
Can engineered timber be installed over a concrete slab?
Yes. Engineered boards can be direct-stuck or floated over a prepared slab, which makes them a practical choice for apartments and ground-floor extensions where solid timber would need a built-up subfloor.
Is engineered timber suitable for a strata apartment?
Yes, with an acoustic underlay and strata approval. We supply the acoustic and product documentation for your renovation application and install to the conditions your by-laws set.
